So after a long, losing hearts game the night prior, I called Cindy to see if the weather was bad enough to call off our overly ambitious plan of hiking Mailbox (over 4000 vertical feet in 3 miles). She said that the weather was fine-
Ironically when we hit the trail, we never found the right path to take us to mailbox. Basically we just traipsed around for over an hour while I said, "this is not it". I don’t know how we got so confused. (Actually I have my own theory that the AK's are trying to sabotage us with bad directions.) After we came to a dead end we decided to head out and go do Si. Then with some strong justification we decided that Rattlesnake would be enough. When the rain started to pelt us, we were quickly able to see how going home really was the best option. So somewhat disappointed about missing an open day to train, but secretly relieved that I got out of it. This does not bode well with goal. |
