Cindy was only 5 minutes early-I was almost worried! I was not a very good passenger as i napped a good chuck on the way up to Paradise.
The weather was beautiful and I was very diligent with my sunscreen (I hate sunscreen). My pack felt heavy (it was about 35 lbs)from the beginning. I felt a little nervous about how it would feel in a few hours, but i decided not to worry about that.
The trek went well. I felt good the whole way and the view was AMAZING-finally we could see Rainier as we were on it.
I followed Ken (from last week) all the way to Muir. It really helps me to pace with someone. I am so glad that he is going on the same climb date.
Getting to Muir was really exciting. I felt pretty accomplished and it was beautiful out.
Coming down was the worst as usual. Tried to wear snowshoes, but they would not stay on. We were pretty weary when we got to the car. I had told Cindy that Round Table Pizza really was the only option on the way home. We were a sight to be seen at the restuarant! Came home and was lucky to shower before i laid down. Feeling confident now that I know that Muir is doable.
