Left Paradise around 9:00 thinking that we may only make it to Pebble Creek due to the weather.
I had a very full pack and Pebble Creek has never seemed so far away. But after resting a good snack i felt better. Matt and Jen's snowboarding friend led the pack at a trot. i tried my best to keep up, but i was always lagging behind them. The group seemed to string out more and more as we got higher. Dawn mentioned about 500 feet from the top that she had walkie-talkies. So wishing we had had them earlier, but it was nice to have on the way down. Cindy was not feeling well when she got to the top and so we turned to go down quickly. Glisading was less of an occurance than i would have liked, but it was fun nonetheless. I noticed on the way down that i had fried my hairline-oh that will be fabulous when it starts to peel. Was hoping to hit Round Table again, but we were so starving we couldnt make it. We stopped for Mexican food in Eatonville and Matt and I ate chips and salsa so furiously that Cindy said she was frightened. Had a blow out on the way home. Cindy and I both tried to be helpful, but were probably just in the way as Matt quickly changed the tire. Got home at 10:00-good, but long weekend. |
